PATNA: Over half of the total vehicles stolen across the state last year were lifted from Patna and Muzaffarpur districts.
According to data available with state police headquarters, 54% of stolen vehicles were lifted from these two districts last year. More than 26,000 vehicles were stolen across state between January 2015 and May this year. Around 35% of the total vehicles stolen in 2015 were from Patna and Muzaffarpur, while the share of these two districts grew to 54% in 2016.
While 10,519 vehicles were stolen across state in 2015, the number rose to 11,087 in 2016. In 2015, altogether 2,486 vehicles were stolen from Patna while the number increased to 3,800 in 2016. Muzaffarpur followed Patna with 1,223 vehicle thefts in 2015 and 2,175 in 2016. Bhagalpur was at the third place from where 445 vehicles were stolen in 2015 and 680 in 2016.
